STEUBENVILLE - In a rematch of the 2016 3RRC Championship match, the top-seeded Franciscan rugby team will host #2 Robert Morris on Saturday for a shot at the conference title.
Last season, the roles were reversed and the Barons came in as the #2 seed and upset Robert Morris to claim the 3RRC crown. Franciscan looks to continue its perfect season against the Colonials.
The Barons are no strangers to the undefeated regular season as they have completed this feat five times since 2008, with three of those years ending in conference championships.
The last time Franciscan completed an undefeated regular season, the Barons went 8-0 before losing in the 3RRC championship match in 2014.
Franciscan rolled through the regular 3RRC season, out-scoring conference opponents 159-57 in four games, including a 57-20 regular season win over Fairmont State.
The championship match between Robert Morris and Franciscan is set for Saturday, November 4 at 1 pm at Memorial Field.
