STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The accolades keep piling up for Franciscan soccer player Leo Herrmann as the freshman forward was named South Division Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Star by the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
Herrmann led the Barons in goals and points during the 2014 season. His 15 goals made him one of the top scorers in the country, ranking 19th in NCAA Division III in goals per game with an average of .88.
The Steubenville native's impact was felt immediately, scoring four goals in his first two NCAA games, including a game winner in overtime against Thiel College in the Baron's second game of the season.
Herrmann is the first Franciscan men's soccer player to make an ECAC All-Star Team and is also the first to be named the super conference's Rookie of the Year. Those honors are added to his awards from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference who made him a First Team All-Conference Member and their Newcomer of the Year.
In 2015, the Barons will return Herrmann, as well as four of their other top five scorers.
