Track & Field Competes at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Franciscan men's and women's track & field team competed at the Westminster College Invite on Saturday.

Freshmen Liam Galligan and Mark Borek finished in the top-five of the 1500 meter run as Galligan took second overall and second in his heat with a time of 4:10.03 and Borek took fourth in his heat and overall with a time of 4:11.11.

Franciscan turned in three top-10 performances in the 10,000-meter run as junior Nick Long (34:59.69) took sixth, sophomore Grady Stuckman (35:02.39) finished seventh, and freshman Athanasius Sirilla finished 10th with a time of 36:42.29.

Junior Hunter McDonnell improved on his ECAC qualifying time in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 57.72 and took ninth overall.

Freshman Austen Duggan turned in a career-best performance in the 800-meter run with a 12th place time of 2:01.08 while senior Carlo Fabian took 41st overall with a personal-best jump of 5.71 meters (18' 9") in the long jump.

Freshman Syndi Cain posted a personal-best time of 23:46.16 in the 5,000-meter run while freshman Bernadette Williams posted a personal-best time of 2:32.13 in the 800-meter run for 20th overall.

Freshman Beth Flanagan took 24th overall with a personal best time of 5:33.03 in the 1,500-meter run.
