BALTIMORE, Md. – In the final meet of the season, the men's and women's track teams earned several more medals to wrap up a successful year.
Freshman Liam Galligan earned the first medal of the day for the Barons as he set a personal-best in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:00.35 to take fourth. Freshman Mark Borek narrowly missed a medal as he took ninth overall in the race with a time of 4:06.71. Junior Nick Long took 11th overall with a time of 4:12.53.
Sophomore Janelle Lunde earned her first medal of the meet as she took first in her heat and eighth overall with a time of 1:09.17, just .24 seconds off of her personal best and school record. Junior Hunter McDonnell followed suit as he took first in his heat and sixth overall in the 400-meter hurdles. McDonnell crossed the line at 57.13, just .07 off of his school record and personal best.
The men's 4x800-meter relay team wrapped up the meet for Franciscan with an exciting relay. Freshman Austen Duggan kicked off the relay with an 800-meter time of 2:01.838 before Galligan ran an impressive 1:59.537. Junior John Bolster kept the Barons in position to medal as he ran a 2:02.048 800. Sophomore Patrick Tansill anchored the Barons to a fifth-place finish as he ran a 2:04.552 split to give Franciscan a final time of 8:07.98, just 5.21 off of the school record.
The Barons finished in 17th place while the Lady Barons captured 23rd to end the year.
