Lady Barons Fall to Wooster on the Road

WOOSTER, OH – The Franciscan women's lacrosse team struggled to find its offense against a tough Wooster team as the Lady Barons fell 20-3 to the Fighting Scots.

Wooster led 13-0 after the first half after several key turnovers halted any momentum the Lady Barons tried to build. Franciscan did win six of the eight first half draw controls, including three from Elizabeth Dawyot and two from Mary Krolicki.

After Wooster pushed the lead to 16-0 with three goals to open the second half. Sophomore Carly McDonald ended the shutout with a goal 8:21 into the half. Krolicki won the draw to get the ball to the Lady Barons and freshman Elaine Kelly passed it off to McDonald for the score.

Wooster answered to push the lead to 17-1 four minutes later, but Krolicki scored her first of the game to cut the lead to 17-2. After a Dawyot shot was saved, Krolicki picked up the ground ball to keep the possession with the Lady Barons. Kelly assisted on her second goal of the game as she put the ball in the stick of Krolicki who got it past the Fighting Scot goalie.
