STEUBENVILLE – The Franciscan women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 win over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent, Pitt.-Greensburg, Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Barons jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles thanks to a pair of stellar performances from the double's pairs. Junior Grace Hammel and sophomore Ana Victoria Maria Haddad continue to work well together and feed off each other's strengths as they walked off the court at No. 2 doubles with an 8-0 win. Senior Maria Binette and junior Madelyn Conrad continue to impress at the No. 1 spot as they captured an 8-1 win for the Lady Barons.
Franciscan earned a pair of default points at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles thanks to two walk overs.
Senior Julia Razook and Hammel continue to shine at No. 4 and No. 5 singles as each won their match 6-0, 6-0. Haddad picked up another win in singles action as she won the No. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-1. Binette kept her singles win streak alive as she walked away with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot. Conrad battled at the No. 1 spot and came away with an impressive 6-3, 6-1 win for Franciscan.
The Lady Barons continue AMCC action tomorrow as they host Penn St.-Behrend at 4:00 pm.
