Galligan Earns All-Region Honors; Lady Barons Finish 28th Overall

NEWVILLE, Pa. – Junior Grace Galligan earned all-region honors as she took 30th overall with her career-best time and the Franciscan women's cross country team took 28th as a team at the 2017 NCAA Mideast Regional, Saturday afternoon.

Galligan was the top Franciscan runner as she finished 30th overall with her career-best time of 23:08.3. The 30th place finish was good enough for all-region honors for the junior, the first of her career. Galligan's previous top-career mark, 23:10, was set at last year's regional as she missed all-region honors by five spots in that race.

Turning in her second-best time of the season, senior Deirdre Coyle finished at 24:46.3, 125th overall and junior Bernadette Williams took 144th overall with a time of 25:11.0.

Freshman Morgan Litterer posted a career-best time as she took 229th overall with a time of 27:00.2, her best in a 6K race at Franciscan. Senior Francesca Santos ran her fastest time of the season as she took 254th overall with a time of 27:52.1.

Sophomore Harper LaFond came in 266th with a time of 28:23.7 while freshman Mary Grayson rounded out the Lady Baron team with her second-fastest time of her career at 28:40.3 as she finished 273rd overall.
