Box Score FUS Lady Barons Snap 5 Game Losing Streak
STEUBENVILLE, OH. - Franciscan University of Steubenville Lady
Barons soccer team pounded the OSU Newark Titans Wednesday in an
8-0 shutout, ending the Lady Barons' five-game losing streak.
FUS Senior and Lady Barons Captain Kendra Evangelho lead the way
with two goals, giving her 11 on the season. The remaining six
goals belonging to Leslie O'Leary, Erin Fitzpatrick, Kelly Koehr,
Kim Drew, Stacey Lancour and Kelsey Bowers, with one apiece.
The Lady Barons out-shot the Titans 27-4 and came out strong -
the first goal was put on the board by O'Leary in the
10th minute, followed by two more goals in the first
half in the 16th and 27th minutes by
Fitzpatrick and Evangelho respectively.
Lady Barons came back with yet another five goals in the second
half. Evangelho scored her second goal of the game in the
47th minute, then a goal from Koehr in the
53rd, another by Drew in the 72nd, one by
Lancour in the 84th and the last goal by Bowers in the
86th. Koehr also claimed two assists.
Head Coach Patrick Doering was glad for the victory: "The girls
played really well. It was the best they've played all season in
terms of moving the ball around the field . . . It was just a
well-played game."
The Lady Barons will hope to add another victory to their 6-8-1
record as they travel to play the University of Pitt Greensburg
Saturday at 1 p.m.
