Franciscan Shuts out Carlow University

STEUBENVILLE, OH-The Lady Barons of Franciscan University of Steubenville took on Carlow University at home on October 21st, claiming a 2-0 victory.

The Lady Barons controlled the game for the first half, taking a 1-0 lead into the break on a goal from Kendra Evangelho.  Evangelho added a second goal in the second half to seal the game, giving Franciscan a 2-0 victory.

Franciscan won the game despite being outshot by Carlow, 10-9, due in large part to the outstanding play of goalkeeper Nikki Traylor, who had 7 saves on the day. 

Evangelho had 3 shots on goal on the day, while teammates Christyn Dupre, Stacey Lancour, Audrey Fletcher, and Kelly Koehr each had a shot on goal.  Kairrie Clarke was the offense standout for Carlow University with 4 shots (3 on goal), while teammate Olivia Clark contributed 3 shots (1 on goal).

With the win, the Lady Barons improved to 11-8-1 on the season.
