Box Score FUS Lady Barons were no match for the Undefeated Altoona Nittany

STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Franciscan University of Steubenville
Lady Barons played a strong defensive game Saturday against the
undefeated Penn State Altoona Nittany Lions. But the Lions
conquered in the end, winning 3-0, their undefeated record still
standing and now at 11-0.
The Lady Barons solid defense kept the Lions from scoring for
the total of the first half and much of the second, with the Lions
only putting away their first goal in the 79th minute of
the game. The second and third goals for the Lions followed only
minutes later.
The Lions out-shot the Lady Barons 26-4. FUS Keeper Nikki
Traylor made a total of 11 saves, playing a large role in the Lady
Barons' impressive defense.
FUS Captain Erin Fitzpatrick said, "We played a team that was
undefeated and we held them off from scoring until the very end -
so our defense really came together. We really united as a team and
we played really hard. Even though we lost, I think it was one of
our best games so far."
The Lady Barons are looking to improve their 5-6-1 record as the
play Penn St. Behrend at 4 p.m. Wednesday on their home field.
