Box Score FUS Women's Soccer falls against Penn State Behrend
STEUBENVILLE, OH. - The Franciscan University of Steubenville
Lady Barons lost against Penn State Behrend 4-0 on Wednesday
dropping their record to 5-7-1 for the season.
The Lady Barons were out-shot 24-5 by the competition. Kendra
Evangelho led the Barons with three shots, followed by Freshman
Kelsey Bowers with two.
Penn State Behrend scored the first goal of the game in the
13th minute, and the Lady Barons were able to keep the
score at 1-0 for some time. But the competition dominated in the
second half, with a scoring frenzy of three goals in the
52nd, 53rd, and 63rd minutes.
FUS Keeper Nikki Traylor made a total of 10 saves, putting her
at an impressive 93 saves for the season.
Lady Barons Captain Tana Vyvlecka commented, "Our goalkeeper
played really well this game. In our next game we are going to want
to improve on moving it through our midfield. Hopefully we can just
come out with a better touch on the ball right from the start."
The Lady Barons' next game is home against La Roche College on
Saturday, 1 p.m.
