FUS Men's Soccer Falls To Penn State Behrend 3-0

STEUBENVILLE, OH- Franciscan University of Steubenville men's soccer team lost to Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, dropping the Barons' record to 6-7-1 (2-4) on the season.

The first half started tough with Ahmad Salim scoring in the second minute to put the Lions on top, 1-0, quickly. Brian Bodnar scored less than a minute later to put Penn State up 2-0, which they would hold for the rest of the half.

The second half did not fare much better for the Barons, who were unable to find an offensive flow. They held the Lions scoreless until the final minute of the game when Salim would get his second goal of the game on a beautiful bicycle kick down the middle to finalize the score at 3-0.

Senior goalkeeper Bill Herrmann, a Catholic Central grad, had five saves in goal for Franciscan University. Sophomore Steve Duran led the Barons with two shots on goal followed by three players with one a piece.

The Barons will look to bounce back from the loss on Saturday as they face conference opponent La Roche College on Saturday October at 3 p.m. on the Steubenville campus.
