back-and-forth match on Saturday night. After a fast start,
the Lady Barons fell behind in the second half, but rallied back to
take a 44-41 victory.
The Lady Barons controlled the tempo early in the contest.
"We played really well in the beginning," Lady Barons Head Coach
Kelly Herrmann said in a post game interview, "I expected us to be
a bit nervous at the start, but that really wasn't an issue."

Eastern stole the lead, the Lady Barons appeared to be succumbing
to the pressure. "We got a bit overconfident as the game went
on," Coach Herrmann said, "At the start of the second half, when
they started making their shots, we began to panic."
But the Lady Barons were far from finished. The took a
timely timeout with roughly six minutes to go, and then rallied
back. Cara Mitchell's three pointer gave them the lead for
good, and then held on for a 44-41 victory.
"We started to come together after the timeout. We rallied
together, and had an impressive finish," Coach Herrmann remarked on
her team's efforts.
Several Lady Barons posted impressive numbers in their opening
victory. Nicole Naugle led the team in scoring with fouteen
points, while Cara Mitchell contributed eleven. Mitchell and
point guard Jordan Henneberry had eight rebounds each. Jess
Belleque also stood out, contributing seven points and five
assists.
