Box Score Lady Barons are defeated by Bobcats
STEUBENVILLE, OH. - The Franciscan University of Steubenville
Lady Barons' were defeated 2-0 by the Frostburg State Bobcats
Saturday, dropping their record to 5-4-1 for the season.
The Bobcats out-shot the Lady Barons 21-6 and came out strong,
with Frostburg Player Lauren Russell scoring in the 14th
minute. The game was a back and forth battle, with no goals for
either team, until much later in the game when Christine Fitzgerald
of the Bobcats scored in the 64th minute.
FUS Freshman Elisabeth Hofer made an impressive 11 saves for the
Lady Barons in her first game as keeper. And Kendra Evangelho led
the way, as is typical, for the Lady Barons in terms of shots, with
a total of three.
While it was a hard loss for the Lady Barons, Assistant Head
Coach Ward Rogers said he is still pleased with the Lady Barons'
improvement this season. "I think we're progressing very well,"
said Rogers. "Early in the season we identified areas we needed to
work on and we've really been diligent, and we have improved."
The Lady Barons next game will be away on Wednesday, facing
Washington and Jefferson College.
