STEUBENVILLE, OH - Franciscan University Lady Barons lost 58-49 Monday night against top ranked conference opponent University of Pitt Greenburg. Franciscan University now carries a 3-7 (1-6) record while losing their last five games.

Caitlin Donovan finished off the first half with a 26-foot 3-pointed to give the lady Barons a 27-25 lead. With four minutes remaining in the game the Lady Barons were down by one (49-50) when Greenburg made two three-pointers and a jumper to seal game for good.

Franciscan Head Coach Kelly Herrmann was exceedingly pleased by her team's performance against an extremely talented Pitt Greenburg team:  "Pitt Greenburg is the top team in our conference, and they have defeated teams who have routed us this season.  Our girls played an unbelievably game tonight."

Coach Herrmann highlighted their zone defense and three-point shooting as their keys to victory.  "They were intimidated by our zone defense," she remarked, "We also shot extremely well from beyond the arc---we were 64% on the night, with Jordan Henneberry shooting 3/4 and Cara (Mitchell) shooting 3/6."

Despite the loss, Lady Barons' Nicole Naugle led the team in scoring with twelve points and seven rebounds. Cara Mitchell and Jordan Henneberry added eleven points each with Mitchell contributing six rebounds.

The Lady Barons will tipoff at 5:30 Wednesday night against Medaille College at home.
