Lady Barons Go 2-0 in Tri-Match

STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Lady Barons volleyball team of Franciscan University of Steubenville hosted La Roche College and Waynesburg University in a tri-match Saturday afternoon, winning both matches. The Lady Barons defeated La Roche in the first match, 25-12, 25-15, 25-18, and overcame Waynesburg in the second, 25-18, 25-20, 17-25, 25-22.

Meg Kay led the Lady Barons in the first match with 10 kills. Teresa Marcotte had a notable performance with 13 assists, and Nicole Henson had 12 digs. In the second match, Anna Cain had 16 kills, while Kay contributed 15. Marcotte had another 23 assists, while Paddy Scott added 12. Nicole Henson had 21 digs, while Marcotte and Kay added 13 and 12, respectively.

"We played two good matches today," Lady Barons coach Kelly Herrmann remarked in a post-game interview. "We slipped up a bit and lost the third game to Waynesburg, but we rallied back to take the fourth and the match. Anna Cain and Meg Kay had really good games for us today." The Lady Barons' next contest is Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Frostburg.
