Lady Barons Swept by Altoona on Senior Night

STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Lady Barons of Franciscan University of Steubenville hosted Penn State Altoona on Monday night in their final match of the season, losing in three games, 16-25, 18-25, 14-25.  With this loss, the Lady Barons finished their season with a record of 9-15 (2-8).

The match against Altoona was senior night, and marked the final game for seniors Ali Aeschliman, Teresa Marcotte, and Paddy Scott, all of whom played for the Lady Barons for all four years of their college career.

Several Lady Barons posted impressive numbers in the loss.  Meg Kay had 10 kills, while Meghann Maccoun added 7, Anna Cain had 4, and Aeschliman contributed 3.  Marcotte had a solid performance with 14 assists, while Scott added 5.  Julie Matanzo had an exceptional defensive effort with 21 digs, while Kay added 12 and Scott had 5.
