Box Score STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Lady Barons soccer team of Franciscan
University of Steubenville hosted D'Youville on Saturday afternoon,
winning 3-0. With the victory, the Lady Barons improved to 4-5-1
(3-1) on the season.
Regina Recznik was the offensive standout for the Lady Barons on
the day, registering 3 shots and accounting for 2 of the team's
goals. Clare Grchan had 2 shots and the other goal, while Tana
Vyvlecka had 6 shots (2 on goal). Nikki Traylor had a solid
performance with 4 saves and no goals allowed. Rebecca Hunter was
the leader for D'Youville with 3 shots.
"I'm very happy that we're finally finding our groove on
offense," Lady Barons coach Johann Marin remarked in a post-game
interview. "We had trouble scoring earlier this season, but we're
doing much better now. Clare Grchan and Regina Recnzik had great
games for us today. We were extremely focused, and that is what
enabled us to get the win."
The Lady Barons' next contest scheduled for Wednesday at 5 p.m.
at Penn State-Altoona.
