Lady Barons Lose to AMCC's First Place Medaille

Lady Barons Still Searching for First Win

STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Lady Barons basketball team of Franciscan University of Steubenville hosted Medaille College on Saturday night, losing 92-27.  With the loss, the Lady Barons fell to 0-8 (0-5) on the season.

Medaille got off to a fast start, rapidly building a lead which became a 49-16 advantage by halftime.  Medaille continued their dominance in the second half, outscoring Franciscan 43-11 en route to their 92-27 victory.  The Lady Barons shot 17.2% on the night, compared to Medaille's stellar 63.5% shooting on the night.

Marian Weber led the Lady Barons with 10 points on the night and 8 rebounds.  Cara Mitchell had 8 points and 4 boards on the night.  Tanisha Travis led Medaille with 19 points, while teammates Meghan Dougherty and Jordan Schrimmel had 18 and 13 points, respectively.

The Lady Barons' next contest is this Tuesday at Mount Aloysius College at 6 p.m.
