Barons Fall to Bison 9-0

Franciscan University baseball faced-off Nichols College from Dundley, Mass. in Coco Beach, Fla. for spring training action on March 17. The Barons lost to the Bison 9-0.

The Barons' offensive struggles had not resolved themselves coming off the 16-6 win against Hilbert College. Franciscan only managed one hit each off of Bison pitchers Joseph Atchue and JC LeBarron. Franciscan's starter Kevin Marrow pitched 4 innings giving up all 9 runs, 3 earned, off 9 hits. Manager Doc Marrow used Will Peyton, Sam Quillen, Rob Marrow, Steve Jagla, and James Nicholson in an inning of relief each.

Peyton singled in the sixth and Steve Daly singled in the eighth to give Franciscan its only hits of the game. Defensive struggles continued for the Barons who committed three errors on the game. Franciscan has had 17 errors in 7 games on the season.

FUS will look to polish up against The Richard Stockton College from Pomoa, New Jersey at Coco Beach on March 19.
