Franciscan Drops Two to Penn State Behrend
Franciscan University of Steubenville's Lady Barons traveled to
Penn State Behrend for a double header on Friday night, losing both
contests, 13-0 and 22-4. The Lady Barons record now stands at
1-24 (1-15).
The first game was extremely difficult for the Lady Barons, as
they only mustered 2 hits, one by catcher Katie Quitney, and the
other by third basemen Krista Bertke. Designated hitter Amy
Greene led the Nitty Lions with 3 hits, 1 RBI, and 2 runs, while
first basemen Maddie Wieser added 1 hit, 4 RBIs, and 2 runs.
The second game was even more difficult for the Lady Barons,
ending in a 22-4 loss. Angelle Cupit led the Lady Barons with
2 hits, 1 RBI, and 1 run, while Meghan Quinlan had 1 hit and 2
RBIs. Greene was once again the standout of Penn State
Behrend, this time contributing 4 hits, 4 RBIs, and 3 runs.
Wieser also had another solid performance with 2 hits, 4 RBIs, and
2 runs.
The Lady Barons' next contest is a double header against Hilbert
College this Saturday.
