Franciscan Goes 0-2 against Hilbert in Final Match of the Season
The Lady Barons of Franciscan University of Steubenville faced
Hilbert College on the road for a double header on Saturday
afternoon, losing both contests, 10-2 and 18-3. The Lady
Barons finished the season with a 1-26 record, going 1-17 in the
AMCC.
Meghan Quinlan led the Lady Barons in the first game with 2 hits
and 1 run. Katie Quitney had a hit and a run, while Lara
Plumlee registered two hits. Amanda Ratajczak was the
standout for Hilbert in the first game with 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 2
runs, while Sarah Collins had 1 hit, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs.
The second game was even more difficult for the Lady
Barons. Their offensive leader in the game was Meghan
Quinlan, who totaled 1 hit, 2 RBIs, and 1 run. Katie Kirrane
had 2 hits and 1 RBI, Kourtney Runyan had 2 hits and 1 RBI.
Collins led Hilbert once again in the second game, this time
recording 4 hits, 4 RBIs, and 3 runs.
Angelle Cupit finished at the top of the stat sheet for the Lady
Barons on the season, posting 25 hits, 7 RBIs, and 9 runs, and one
of only two Lady Barons to hit a home run on the season.
Katie Kirrane also had a solid year with 16 hits, 6 RBIs, and 4
runs. Catcher Katie Quitney, who found herself near the top
of the stat sheet virtually every night, rounded off the year with
a total of 16 hits, 8 RBIs, and 4 runs.
