Lady Barons Lose Close Match to Geneva

BEAVER FALLS, PA - The Lady Barons of Franciscan University of Steubenville traveled to Geneva College on Wednesday night, losing, 3-2.  Franciscan led at halftime, 1-0, but Geneva rallied back to take a 2-1 lead.  Franciscan later tied the game at 2, but Marua Allen's goal with 13 minutes remaining sealed the game for Geneva.

Several Lady Barons posted impressive numbers in the loss.  Clare Grchan led the Lady Barons with 4 shots (1 on goal), while Kelly O'Brien had 3 shots (1 on goal).  Lauren Miller scored the game's opening goal on an assist from Tana Vyvlecka, while Regina Recznik had the Lady Barons' second goal of the night.

Elise Mann of Geneva led all players on the day with 11 shots (7 on goal), 1 goal, and 1 assist.  Rebecca Shaw also had a solid performance with 3 shots (1 on goal), while Robin Webster had 2 shots on goal and a goal.

The Lady Barons look to rebound on September 19 at Medaille at 1 p.m. in their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest.
