Lady Barons Fall to Carlow University
PITTSBURGH, PA - The Lady Barons of Franciscan University of
Steubenville traveled to Carlow on Wednesday night, losing 16-25,
36-38, 12-25. With the loss, the Lady Barons fell to 3-5 on
the season.
Meg Kay led the Lady Barons on the night with 15 kills.
Teresa Marcotte continued her exceptional play at setter with 12
assists, while libero Nicole Henson contributed 16 digs.
"We dug ourselves in a hole early in each of our three games
tonight," Lady Barons coach Kelly Herrmann remarked in a post-game
interview. "In the second game we played really well, but a
few mistakes cost us. In the second game we played at our
level, but we were unable to play that way in the first or third
games. We just didn't play like winners in this match, we
were hesitant and unsure - it's something we really need to work
on. I truly believe that we have all the pieces, we just have
to continue to work at piecing them together so that we can get
some wins."
The Lady Barons look to rebound against Allegheny Mountain
Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Bradford in a tri-match at La
Roche on Saturday at 1 p.m.
