Barons Get First Conference Win against Hilbert

STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Barons of Franciscan University of Steubenville hosted Hilbert College on Saturday afternoon, winning 3-1. The Barons got their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference win, and improved to 3-4 (1-1) on the season.

Several Barons posted impressive numbers in the victory. Steve Duran led the Barons with 10 shots (7 on goal) and 2 goals. Christian Bobak had 7 shots (3 on goal) and 1 assist. Joseph Krilich had 7 shots (5 on goal), while Zeph Swope had 3 shots (1 on goal).

"We played a solid game today," Barons assistant coach Tommy Lahey remarked in a post-game interview. "We did what we needed to do to get the win. We didn't play at the top of our game at times, and we definitely have some things to work on, but I'm happy to get our first conference win of the season."

The Barons' next contest is scheduled for Tuesday at Mt. Aloysius College at 5 p.m.
