Box Score Barons Defeat Mount Aloysius
CRASSON, PA - The Barons of Franciscan University of
Steubenville traveled to Mount Aloysius on Tuesday night, emerging
victorious, 3-1. With the win, the Barons men's soccer team
improved to 4-4 (2-1) on the season.
The Barons were able to distribute the ball very well in the
contest and, as a result, three players got their first goals of
the season. Benjamin Pfau opened the game with the Barons'
first score of the night, then freshmen Bill Milburn and Johnny
Herrmann extended Franciscan's lead with a goal apiece.
"We did what we had to do to win today," Barons assistant coach
Tommy Lahey remarked in a post-game interview. "The
conditions were miserable - it was cold, sloppy, and nasty out
there, but our guys played tough and got the win tonight. Our
defense played exceptionally well, and set up several opportunities
for our offense throughout the game."
The Barons' next contest is tomorrow at Wheeling Jesuit
University at 7:30 p.m.
