Weber and Mitchell Stay Steady in Double-Digits

BRADFORD, PA – The Franciscan University of Steubenville Lady Barons basketball team took on the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on Saturday, losing 64-34 to the Lady Panthers.  With the loss, the Lady Barons fall to 3-15 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and 3-19 overall. gt;  Pitt-Bradford now holds a 4-0 series advantage over the Lady Barons since they entered the AMCC last season.

The Lady Barons played aggressively against Pitt-Bradford but were unable to find the net with consistency, shooting a percentage of 31.4% compared to Pitt-Bradford's 40.1%. 

Cara Mitchell and Marian Weber were the offensive standouts for the Lady Barons, registering 13 and 10 points, respectively.  Hollie Rapp led the Lady Panthers with 13 points, while teammate Ashley Seidenstricker had 10 points.

“We played hard tonight but we just had trouble making our shots,” Lady Barons coach Kelly Herrmann remarked.  “The stats were fairly similar between our two teams, but we were unable to keep pace with them.”

The Lady Barons host Frostburg State this Monday at 6 p.m.
