GROVE CITY, PA – Congratulations to the Franciscan
University track and field team's performance at the Grove
City College Mini Meet on Tuesday in breaking several school
records.
Lady Baron Noelle Kummant broke the triple jump record with
a distance of 10.13 meters (33 feet 3 inches). The previous
mark was 9.01 meters.
Baron Tim Michaud set a new mark in the javelin event at 43.37
meters, replacing his old mark of 41.80 meters. Also
performing well in the same event, Nathan Chase threw 41.89 meters
which bested the former mark set by Michaud as well. Mark Fox
set a new mark in the long jump of 5.34 meters, beating the old
mark set in 2008 of 5.16 meters. Finally, Matthew Krepel
replaced his own triple jump personal best of 9.63 meters with a
new record of 9.95 meters.
The Baron track and field team will compete this Saturday at the
Wheeling Jesuit's Bill Van Horne Invitational.
