STUEBENVILLE, Ohio — Franciscan University of Steubenville's women's basketball team took on the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Saturday afternoon, losing 58-82. The Lady Barons are now 1-15 on the season.  

"I'm happy with the intensity the girls played with today," said head coach Luke Heusel. "We handled the ball well. We have eight games left in the season and we're just going to continue to work on our defense and improve."

Coach Heusel said the Lady Barons defense was especially strong in the beginning of the first half and the last 14 minutes of the game.

Freshmen Lacey Huck and Amy O'Keefe continued to show their strength on the court. They each scored 19 points and eight rebounds on the day.

The Lady Barons travel to Mt. Aloysius College Wednesday, January 25. The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
