Woes Continue For Lady Baron Softball

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Franciscan University of Steubenville softball team traveled to the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg for a doubleheader against the Lady Bobcats Wednesday, dropping both games by scores of 10-0.

"Every game we're trying to accomplish something different," head coach Terry Leighty said. "We are continuing to work on our defense. We try to get the first out every inning, because if you can do that the odds are with (the defense) in holding the offense to a lower chance of scoring. We're trying to cut down on errors. If we can accomplish these goals, there is going to be an improvement."

Franciscan only managed to get three hits between the two games.

"Every game our goal is to go out and win, and we haven't given up on that; the girls haven't quit. We have struggled to put our full team on the field. When everyone is there we can be competitive, but we just can't seem to get everyone there," Leighty noted.

The Lady Barons travel to D'Youville College for an afternoon doubleheader with the Lady Spartans on March, 31 at 1 and 3 p.m.
