The doubles teams started the match off with a good show of effort and teamwork with the No. 1 and No. 2 teams both earning victories. No. 1 team, Paul Jarzynka and Brian Robau won 8-6 and No. 2 team, Luke Merry and Leonel Lacayo, earned an 8-3 victory.

"The doubles teams came together for us today and that's really important," Ellis said.

In singles play the team continued to succeed. Leonel Lacayo set the tone and won his match versus Tony Constantino 6-1, 6-1; Paul Jarzynka hustled to come out with a victory against Anthony Nemanis, 7-6, 7-5; Brian Robau defeated his opponent Sean Malone 6-3, 6-2 and Luke merry rounded out the wins with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Dan Chirdon.

"Because we are going into the conference tournament this weekend as the returning champions there is some anxiety that goes with that but we just need to keep focused," noted Ellis. "We are ready to get it started."

The tennis team plays in the AMCC championship Sunday, April 15 at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, Pa. beginning at 9 a.m.
