Box Score BUFFALO, NY – The Franciscan men's basketball team dropped a 108-66 AMCC tilt to Hilbert Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Barons drop to 1-17 on the year and 1-11 in the AMCC while the Hawks improve to 16-4 overall and 10-3 in the conference.
Junior Jacob Divens led the Barons with 10 points and a pair of assists while sophomore Garrison Holmes posted 10 points and four rebounds.
The two teams traded the first four buckets of the game before Hilbert took the lead for good. The Barons kept it close until the Hawks used a 12-2 run over a span of three minutes to take a 22-10 lead and control of the game.
Sophomore Keoni Sablan made a pair of free throws and hit a three pointer with 5:21 to play in the first to cut the Hawk lead back to single digits, 38-29, but Hilbert closed out the opening period on a 14-4 run to take a 52-33 lead into half time.
Jerame Owens opened the second half with a pair of jump shots to push the host's lead to 56-33 and the Hawks never looked back.
Holmes added the last four Baron points of the game, two on a pair of free throws and two from the final basket of the game with 26 seconds left.
The Barons visit Pitt.-Greensburg on Wednesday at 6 pm before hosting three-straight home games.
