JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Franciscan men's cross country team captured second place at the 2016 AMCC Championship meet behind six all-conference performances, Sunday afternoon.
Capturing the Barons first all-conference honor was freshman Patrick Tansill with a time of 29:18.46 to take fourth overall in the 8K race. Right on his heels was classmate Matthew Crotteau with a time of 29:20.60 for fifth.
The next group of runners for Franciscan took eighth and ninth as the Barons were running in close pairs all race. Sophomore Nick Long was the third Baron across the finish line with a time of 30:03.96 to take eighth overall and claim a spot on the all-conference team. Classmate Grady Stuckman was not far behind Long and came in ninth with a time of 30:07.21, also earning an all-conference honor.
Junior Tim Jackson was the final overall scoring runner for the Barons as he took 13th place with a time of 30:25.57 and classmate Will Blackley rounded out the all-conference runners for the Barons with a time of 31:26.70 and an overall place of 14th, though outside the top 15 runners.
Next up for the Barons is the 2016 MidEast Regional on November 12.
