Galligan Wins AMCC Championship Race; Lady Barons Take Second

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Grace Galligan won the 2016 AMCC Championship race and the Franciscan women's cross country team was earned a second-place finish, Sunday afternoon.

Galligan ran away with the race as she finished the 6K at 25:11.00, the second meet win of the season for Galligan. Following Galligan was Bernadette Williams in second. Williams ran the 6K in 25:26.69. Galligan and Williams were the first two All-AMCC runners named.

Rose McGrath was the third Lady Baron to cross the finish line in the championship meet an earned Franciscan's third spot on the All-AMCC teams. McGrath finished at 27:20.60 for a 12th place finish.

Finishing just outside the top-15 runners, sophomore Angela Penza captured the 15th-scoring place but 16th overall with a time of 28:15.19. Senior Lauren Schubilske captured the 16th-scoring place to round out the scoring runners for Franciscan with a time of 28:35.55.

Senior Jennifer Sullivan finished with a time of 29:51.68th to take 20th overall and freshman Alison Krall took 21st at 29:57.16.

Next up for the Lady Barons is the 2016 MidEast Regional on November 12.
