STEUBENVILLE – The Franciscan women's cross country team dominated the 2016 Franciscan Cross Country Invite and took first as five of the seven Lady Barons finished in the top-10.
Freshman Grace Galligan continues her dominant rookie season with a first place finish a full two minutes ahead of the next runner. Galligan took first with a time of 20:22.52 in the 5k race.
Senior Emily Baznik was the second Lady Baron to cross the finish line at 23:57 and took third overall. Suzie Kass (24:06.55), Bernadette Williams (24:10.32), and Kara Shaughnessy (24:11.32) took fifth through seventh to round out the top-10 runners for the Lady Barons.
Sarah Flickinger was the sixth Lady Baron to cross the line at 25:23.60 and was 11th overall. Elizabeth Beiter took 25th and was the final scoring Lady Baron at 32:06.35. Alyssa Blankenberger narrowly missed a scoring position as she finished at 32:12.83.
The Lady Barons return to the course next Friday when they compete in the All-Ohio Invite.
