Box Score

STEUBENVILLE – The Franciscan women's soccer team grabbed a 3-0 win over visiting Bethany (W.Va.) Wednesday night.

Franciscan would maintain the 1-0 advantage for the next 41 minutes. Though the Lady Barons did take six more shots in the first, Bethany keeper made four of her five saves for the game to keep the score close.

Coming out of halftime, junior Elizabeth Krilich took the first shot of the period but was turned away by the goalie. The Lady Barons earned a corner shortly afterwards and Doyle collected a deflection off of the scrum that resulted in front of the net from corner and put the ball over the goalies shoulder to give FUS a 2-0 lead in the 57th minute.

Megan Luiso put the final touches on the offensive showing for the Lady Barons as she sent a shot from about 35 yards out over the goalie in the 85th minute and bring the score to its final, 3-0.

Sophomore goalie Sarah Luebking needed just two saves in net as the Lady Baron back line helped to keep the ball away from the keeper.
