Lady Barons Turn in Season-Bests at Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio – Freshman Catherine Long once again led the Franciscan women's cross country team as the Lady Barons finished 17th overall at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble, Saturday afternoon.

Posting her fastest career time, Long came in 49th overall with a time of 23:28.6. The freshman improved on her career-best by 30 seconds. Junior Bernadette Williams posted her best time of the season, shaving five seconds off her previous top mark with an 88th place finish at 24:16.9. Junior Grace Galligan, running in her third race and just second 6K race this season, shaved just under two minutes off her best time of the year with a 91st place time of 24:21.2.

Running in her second race of the year, senior Deirdre Coyle took 1:30 of her previous season-best time in a 6K event with a time of 24:38.6 as she came in at 108. Freshman Morgan Litterer posted a personal-best time of 27:47.9 by over 30 seconds as she took 209th place. Classmate Harper LaFond also registered a career-best with a time of 27:51.1 as she took 210th place.

Senior Francesca Santos rounded out the scoring runners for the Lady Barons with her fastest time this season by 40 seconds with a 221st place finish at 28:37.2.

Sophomore Suzie Kass turned in her fastest time this season with a time of 28:46.3, 40 seconds faster than her previous season top mark and Christina Morris ran in her first race as a Lady Baron and finished at 28:50.8.

The Lady Barons will take next week off as they prepare for the 2017 AMCC Championships. The championship meet will be held on October 28 at Hilbert College.
