STEUBENVILLE, OH –The Lady Barons were pit against Penn St.-Altoona for a close meet, ending with the Lady Barons on top. They won with a score of 97, one over the Lions.
Emily Allsteadt clinched second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:26.83, with Abby Commarford close behind in third with a time of 7.00.31. Allsteadt also swam the 1000-yard freestyle with a final time of 13:14.94.
Elizabeth McNulty took first in both the 200-yard IM (2:23.54) and 100-yard butterfly (1:03.41).
Katie Cunningham, who also swam the 100-yard butterfly, took third with a time of 1:11.85. Cunningham clinched first for the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:17.67 with Commarford in fourth with a time of 1:36.22.
In the 200-yard freestyle Maris Bey came in third (2:41.73) with Maya Staton coming in fifth (2:45.86). Bey took second in the 100-yard freestyle (1:06.99).
Staton and Rachael June took third (1:30.29) and fourth (1:55.96) consecutively in the 100-yard backstroke. June also swam the 50-yard freestyle, taking fifth with a time of 37.34, coming behind Sarah Tohill, who took fourth with a time of 36.89.
Tohill took a score of 125.85 for the first round of 1-meter diving as well as a score of 162.00 for the second round of diving.
The Lady Barons took first in the 200-yard medley with Allsteadt, Cunningham, McNulty, and Bey coming in with a time of 2:08.21. In the 200-yard freestyle relay the Lady Barons took second with Commarford, June, Staton, and Meaghan McCoy coming in with a time of 2:17.24 to clinch the win for the Lady Barons.
The Lady Barons will return to the pool Friday, November 10th with Senior Night against Hiram at 6:30 pm.
