STEUBENVILLE, OH – The Lady Barons hosted a tri-meet against Bethany and Cabrini on Saturday. Ending the meet in the middle of the pack, the Lady Barons beat Bethany 120-56 and lost to Cabrini 133-79.
To kick things off the Lady Barons clinched second in the 200-yard medley relay with Emily Allsteadt, Katie Cunningham, Elizabeth McNulty, and Maris Bey coming in with a time of 2:09.23.
McNulty took first in both the 200-yard IM and 200-yard butterfly with times of 2:24.30 and 2:22.89 respectively. Joining McNulty in the 200-yard IM was Cunningham, who secured third with a time of 2:32.48. Cunningham also swam the 200-yard breaststroke, clinching first (2:47.29) with Abby Commarford taking sixth (3:20.72).
Allsteadt went on to take fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle (13:23.23) as well as fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (6:25.28) with Commarford taking sixth (7:06.04).
In the 50-yard freestyle, Bey secured third (28.97) with Rachael June and Marguerite Stonier taking seventh (36.99) and eighth (39.65) respectively. June and Stonier took seventh (1:22.58) and eighth (1:29.72) respectively in the 100-yard freestyle as well.
Also in the 100-yard freestyle for the Lady Barons was Meagan McCoy, who came in sixth with a time of 1:19.87. McCoy took sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:53.59) with Maya Staton coming in just before her, taking fifth (2:45.69). Staton later took fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 3:15.16.
In the diving portion Sarah Tohill took first in both sections with scores of 119.45 and 151.50.
Wrapping up the meet was the 200-yard freestyle relay, where Commarford, June, Staton, and Stonier secured first with a time of 2:19.17.
The Lady Barons dive back into the pool January 12th, as they travel to Alfred State.
