NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – A strong mix of new and returning Franciscan men's cross country runners led the Barons to a third place finish out of 10 teams at the Fisher Invite, Friday evening.
Freshman Liam Galligan led the pack in his first collegiate race as he took third overall with a time of 25:46.30 in the 8K event. Junior Nick Long was the second Baron to cross the line as he came in 15th overall with a time of 27:16.55.
Sophomore Matthew Crotteau and junior Grady Stuckman finished within one second of each other as Crotteau came in 17th with a time of 27:22.56 and Stuckman in 18th with a time of 27:23.57.
Returning to the Barons for his junior season, Joe Gallagher took 24th overall with a time of 27:46.50 while freshman Athanasius Sirilla came in 27th with a time of 27:50.29. Freshman JP Soulliere rounded out the scoring runners for Franciscan with a 49th place finish and a time of 27:50.29.
Franciscan returns to the course next Saturday as the Barons run in the Bethany Invite at 10:30 am.
