Box Score CRESSON, Pa. – The Franciscan women's tennis team got back in the win column after a decisive 9-0 win over Mount Aloysius in AMCC action, Saturday afternoon.
Franciscan got out to a stellar start as all three doubles courts walked away with a win. Juniors Julia Razook and Taranee Karimpour at No. 2 doubles and sophomore Grace Hammel and senior captain Emmy Mathias at No. 3 doubles each swept their opponents, 8-0. Sophomore Madelyn Conrad and junior Maria Binette also won at No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
Hammel and Razook each swept their singles opponent at No. 3 and 4 singles, respectively, while Conrad dropped just one game at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Binette handled her No. 2 singles opponent as she walked away with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Karimpour earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles while Mathias finished out No. 6 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win for the Lady Barons.
Franciscan looks to carry this momentum into its final home match of the season on Tuesday, September 26 against St. Vincent. The Lady Barons will honor their two seniors, Marisa Pinto and Emmy Mathias for the match.
