Lady Barons Fall Short at Washington & Jefferson

WASHINGTON, PA – The Lady Barons came up short in their first meet back since Christmas break.  With January 13th's meet against Chatham postponed due to weather, the Lady Barons dove back into the regular season with a tri-meet against Washington & Jefferson and Hiram. The Lady Barons fell to both, falling to Hiram 61-50 and falling to Washington & Jefferson 62-41.

Kicking off the meet was the 200-yard medley relay, where Emily Allsteadt, Abby Commarford, Elizabeth McNulty, and Katherine Kennedy came in fourth with a time of 2:22.95. Allsteadt went on to take second in the 1000-yard freestyle (13:34.24) and clinched first in the 500-yard freestyle (6:42.41) with Commarford securing second (7:25.61). Commarford later took fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke. Elizabeth McNulty clinched first in both the 200-yard breaststroke (2:40.90) and 200-yard IM (2:23.19).  

Katherine Kennedy took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:16.88) with Maya Staton close behind, taking fifth (1:17.08). Staton took fourth in the 200-yard free with a time of 2:47.67.

Rachel June took fourth in both the 100-yard backstroke (1:44.52) and 50-yard freestyle (39.07). Joining June in the 50-yard freestyle was Marguerite Stonier, who took fifth with a time of 39.37.

Sarah Tohill took second with a score of 141.50 in 1-meter diving. Tohill later clinched first in 3-meter diving with a score of 130.80.

To end the meet June, Staton, Stonier, and Kennedy secured a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:24.78

The Lady Barons will be back in the pool at 1:00 PM on January 27th in another tri-meet, this time against Pitt.-Bradford and Baldwin Wallace at Berea, OH.
