BEREA, OH – The Lady Barons came out in the middle of the pack in a tri-meet against Baldwin Wallace and Pitt.-Bradford on Saturday. They overcame Pitt.- Bradford 56 -31 and fell to host Baldwin Wallace 154-56.
Starting off the meet the Lady Barons came in third in the 200-yard medley relay with Rachael June, Abby Commarford, Katherine Racca, and Maya Staton coming in with a time of 2:41.81. Commarford later came in fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:33.55) and secured second in the 500-yard freestyle (7:07.74).
In the 200-yard freestyle the Lady Barons secured fourth with Emily Allsteadt's time of 2:29.61, fifth with Staton's time of 2:38.80, seventh with Katherine Kennedy's time of 2:44.27, and eighth with Katherine Racca's time of 2:51.79. Later in the 100-yard freestyle Shannon Wieszczek secured third (1:12.12), with Staton following in fourth (1:14.18), Kennedy coming right behind in fifth (1:14.37) and Marguerite Stonier finishing up in seventh (1:27.12). Wieszczek also took third in the 50-yard freestyle (30.77) with Racca taking fifth (34.36), June taking sixth (35.61), and Stonier taking seventh (38.23).
Clinching first in the 100-yard IM, Elizabeth McNulty came in with a time of 1:07.67. McNulty also took third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:28.39.
In the first round of 1-meter diving Sarah Tohill came in third with a score of 116.90. Tohill later clinched first in the second round of 1-meter diving with a score of 90.60.
To wrap up the meet the Lady Barons clinched first in the 400-yard freestyle relay with Allsteadt, Kennedy, Wieszczek, and McNulty coming in with a time of 4:37.28.
The Lady Barons return to the pool February 3rd at 1:00 at Alfred State.
