Box Score STEUBENVILLE, OH—Franciscan University's Lady Baron volleyball team will host its annual Side-Out Foundation Dig Pink Day on Saturday, September 8, to support breast cancer research.
Steubenville Catholic Central will kick off the event at Franciscan University's Finnegan Fieldhouse at 10:00 a.m. with a game against Bellaire St. John Central. At noon, there will be matches between Franciscan University and Oberlin on court one, and La Roche and Geneva on court two. At 2:00 p.m., there will be matches between Franciscan and Geneva on court one, and La Roche and Oberlin on court two. Starting at 4:00 p.m., Edison Local will play Steubenville Big Red on court one, and Brooke will play Beaver Local on court two.
Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens.
Fans are invited to participate in a high school serving contest at $1 per person. Prizes include pizza and T-shirts from Franciscan University and local high schools. The serving contests will take place after the 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. matches. There will also be a Chinese auction with baskets valued at $100 each, a 50/50 raffle, and "Courtside Couch" tickets.
Proceeds support the Side-Out Foundation's clinical trials for patients with stage 4 breast cancer and the Tony Teramana Cancer Center's Trinity Emergency Assistance Relief Fund (TEAR), which lessens the burdens of individuals receiving cancer treatment.
