STEUBENVILLE, OH- The Lady Barons are coming off a season opening win on the road at Bethany Saturday night 52-49. The first season opening win since 2008, a 44-41 win over Ohio-Eastern. Leading the charge for Franciscan was Senior Abby Baierl with 21 points, 10 in the fourth quarter. Freshmen Clare McGahan and Selena Coronis were big contributors as well with nine and eight points each as well.

• Franciscan has never beat Chatham in their history, with Chatham getting the better of the Lady Barons in all 10 meetings.
• Last season the Chatham won 82-55, in a game where Chatham returner, Kaitlyn Fertig scored 18 points. Angela Starre led all Lady Barons with 16 points. Chatham out rebounded Franciscan by twenty (57-37) and only turned it over five times on the night.

• The Lady Barons only average 44.8 ppg against Chatham, scoring a series low 23 in 2017, compared to Chatham's 60 ppg in their ten meetings

Scouting Franciscan

• Abby Baierl led the way for the Lady Barons scoring 21 points in a win on Saturday. Fellow Senior Cianna Vaughan ripped down 9 rebounds to lead Franciscan as well.
• The Lady Barons under a new coaching staff will have many different looks on the floor this non-conference.

• In the win last Saturday against Bethany, freshman accounted for 23 points and 17 rebounds. Clare McGahan 9 pts 6 reb, Selena Coronis 8 pts 4 reb and Estelle Leon 6 pts 7 reb
   

Scouting Chatham

• This game will be Chatham's season opener, as they are coming off a 12-14 season last year, finishing T4th in the PAC last season at 8-8. They were selected preseason 6th in the PAC for this season.

• Chatham returns one of their top 4 scorers from last season in Ashley McClain (14.9 ppg) and Kaitlyn Fertig (6.6 ppg). Also a player to watch is Graduate transfer from Capital University  Emily Ondo.
