Lady Barons Travel to Greensburg to Begin AMCC Play

STEUBENVILLE, OH- The Lady Barons are coming off back to back losses as they open up AMCC play at Pitt.-Greensburg Tuesday night.

All-Time Series Against Pitt.-Greensburg
  • Pitt.-Greensburg holds the edge in career matchups by winning 21 of their previous 23 matchups over the last ten years, including wins in their last seven meetings.
  • Last season The Barons played the panthers tough twice, first in a 51-55 loss in a game where Nadage Durand dropped 17 points and pulled down 8 rebounds for the Panthers. Angela Starre added 17 points to lead all Lady Baron scorers. Greensburg won the 4th quarter by nine points to come out on top.
  • Last February the Lady Barons fell 66-57 even with Abby Baierl's Lady Baron leading 17 points and 9 rebounds. Nagede Durand once again got the better of the Lady Barons as she scored 26 points and 13 rebounds.
  • Franciscan's last win against Greensburg came on 1/6/16, in a 75-65 victory. Now Assistant Coach Iliana Gonzales went off for 32 points and 9 rebounds. Lucia Westrick added a double double of 13 points and 14 rebounds.

  • Franciscan is 1-2 in the early going of the 2019-20 season, each contest being against PAC schools
  • Abby Baierl has been leading the way thus far for the Lady Barons by averaging 14.0 points a night, Freshman Estelle Leon is grabbing 10.7 rebounds a game on average.

Scouting Pitt.-Greensburg
  • Pitt.Greensburg is also coming off a pair of losses, one being to a common opponent in Grove City. The Panthers have two dominant wins this season over Thiel and The City College of New York.
  • Four of the Greensburg five starters average over nine points a night: Colleen Murphy 12.2 ppg, Maddie Sittler 10.8 ppg, Nadege Durand 10.4 ppg and 10.8 rpg and Cat Gollihugh 9.2 ppg.
