Lady Barons Travel to Challenge the Mounties on Wednesday

STEUBENVILLE, OH- The Lady Barons are coming off a loss at Pitt.-Greensburg in their first AMCC tip, to meet a fellow one win team inn Mount Aloysius.

All-Time Series Against Mount Aloysius
  • Franciscan holds a record of 1-22 against Mount Aloysius all-time.
  • Franciscan's lone win coming on 12/7/11, 73-64. Amy O'Keefe scored 24 points to lead the Lady Barons, and Christine Conrad added 18 points as well.
  • In last season's first meeting on 12/5/19, the Mounties won 79-47. Breana Kendrick led the way with a game high 22 points and 8 rebounds.
  • Then in January in Cresson, PA, the Lady Barons lost 72-52. Angela Starre led all Lady Barons with 20 points and 8 rebounds, while the Mounties were led by returner Lea Sammarco's 23 points, hitting 5-7 from three. 
Scouting Franciscan
  • Franciscan has struggled from deep this season thus far, by shooting 19.6% from three while shooting 23 shots a night from behind the arc.
  • For the Lady Barons, Abby Baierl is leading the way thus far with 12.5 points per game. Freshman Estelle Leon is averaging nearly a double double with 8.5 ppg and 9.8 rpg.
  • The Lady Barons set a program record with 59 rebounds at Grove City on November 22nd in their 74-47 loss.

Scouting Mount Aloysius
  • The Mounties have one win this year coming against Lancaster Bible on November 23rd. They share common losses to Grove City and Chatham.
  • The Mounties are led offensively by Lea Sammarco 10.6 ppg and Rachel Robinson 8.6 ppg. In their lone win this season, Senior Hannah Kitko dropped 14 points in 31 minutes of action.
  • Mount Aloysius averages an AMCC low of 26.8 rebounds per game, getting out rebounded every night by nearly 20 rebounds.
