ERIE, Pa. – For the seventh-straight year the Franciscan men's tennis team as advanced to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship match as the top-seeded Barons downed No. 4 Penn State Behrend, 5-1, Saturday afternoon.
After very closely contested doubles matches, the Barons held a 2-1 advantage going into singles action. AMCC tournament matches are played to match point so the Barons needed just three singles points to earn a spot in the championship match.

Jack Galla was the first one off at the court at No. 5 singles as he quickly worked a 6-0, 6-2 win to put the Barons up 3-1. Freshman
Billy Presume was on his heels and made quick work of his opponent at No. 3 singles as he won 6-1, 6-3.
Sophomore Luke Conard, the 2018 AMCC Newcomer of the Year, wasted little time after Presume finished to clinch the semifinals win as he took care of his No. 2 singles opponent, 6-2, 6-2.
The Barons will play for their seventh-straight AMCC title and eighth in program history Sunday as they take on No. 2 Mount Aloysius at 1:30 pm. Mount Aloysius earned its first-ever trip to the AMCC finals after defeating No. 3 Medaille 5-3 in the second semifinals match.
Franciscan defeated the Mounties 8-1 in the regular season meeting of the two teams.
