BALTIMORE, Md. – The Franciscan men's tennis season came to a close Friday morning as the Barons fell to John Carroll in the opening round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament, hosted by Johns Hopkins.

Luke Conrad and junior
Jack Galla had a strong match at No. 2 doubles as they took a 5-4 lead late in the match. John Carroll's Gustavo Garcia and Andrew Triner battled back and won 4 of the next five games to win 8-6 and give John Carroll a 3-0 lead after doubles. Sophomore

Aidan Howard dropped the No. 3 doubles match 8-4 and freshman duo
Gary Pierre and
Billy Presume fell at No. 1, 8-4.
In singles, Garcia took the No. 3 singles match from Alexander 6-0, 6-0 to push the JC lead to 4-0 before Doug Moore closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Howard at No. 6.
The Barons wrap up their season at 10-12 after winning their seventh-straight AMCC title and advancing to the NCAA tournament for the seventh-straight season.
