Women's Basketball Returns Home to Take on Pitt.-Greensburg

STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Lady Barons are on a three game skid now as they have fallen into 7th place in the AMCC. The 6th seeded Pitt.-Greensburg come in red hot as they have won five straight to jump into a possible playoff spot.

All-Time Series Against Pitt.-Greensburg
  • Franciscan is 2-21 against Pitt.-Greensburg, with the Bobcats winning the one previous matchup this season.
  • In November the Lady Barons lost 49-67, Nadege Durand had a dominant game as she scored 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Bobcats. Shaquoia McCray tied her season high of 16 points off the bench as well for the Bobcats. Estelle Leon led the way for the Lady Barons with 14 points and seven rebounds.
  • The Lady Barons only two wins have came in Steubenville, with their last win coming on 1/6/2016. Iliana Gonzales scored 25 points, and Lucia Westrick added 24 to lead the Lady Barons to victory.
Scouting Franciscan
  • Angela Starre has picked up right where she left off last season, as she is now the leading scorer for the Lady Barons once more at 14.0 ppg. She scored a season high 23 points at D'Youville on Saturday.
  • Abby Baierl has been in a drought as of late, as she has only scored 19 points in the three game losing streak. The senior is second on the team in scoring by averaging 13.7 ppg.
  • The Lady Barons average the second least points per game in the AMCC at 52.9. Franciscan has scored 50 or fewer nine times this year, and they are 0-9 in these games. 
Scouting Pitt.-Greensburg
  • The Bobcats have had a stifling defense all season, as they allow the fewest points per game in the conference at 56.5. This is not great news for the Lady Barons who have scored 43.0 ppg in their three game losing streak.
  • Nadege Durand is coming off her best game of the year against D'Youville, as she scored 25 points and 19 rebounds. Durand passed Estelle Leon as the leader in rebounds per game in the AMCC at 10.7.
  • Sophomore Maddie Sitler is having  a strong season for the Bobcats as she is averaging 11.7 ppg and 5.3 rpg.
